If a product's status is Not Available or Out of Production, and no inventory is available, the availability of Upsell and Replacement items determines whether iMIS opens the Opportunities window:
No Upsell or Replacement items are available - If no Upsell or Replacement items are available for the product, iMIS does the following:
■ Clears the Product field (cursor remains in the field)
■ Displays a message at the bottom of the screen (the message displayed depends on the product's status):
□ Out of Production - “Product-code is out of production and no replacement product is available.”
□ Not Available - “Product-code is not available and no Replacement Product is available.”
Upsell or Replacement items are available - If Upsell or Replacement items are available for the product, iMIS does the following:
■ Clears the Product field (cursor remains in the field).
■ Opens the Opportunities window listing all available Upsell and Replacement opportunities (the Replace button enables).
■ Displays a message at the bottom of the Opportunities window, “Product-code is not available. Please select a replacement product, or click Close.”
If you click Replace, iMIS does the following:
■ Updates the original product's line item with the Upsell or Replacement item's data.
■ Recalculates the order's discounts, taxes, and prices to reflect the Upsell or Replacement item's data.
■ Refreshes the Opportunities window with the Upsell or Replacement item's available opportunities.
■ Refreshes each line item's Opportunities indicator.
